CALL FOR PAPERS no. 27 (2027) : time
Posted on 2026-09-22Junctures is a multidisciplinary double-blind peer-reviewed journal that seeks to highlight the contradictions, complexities and coherences that underlie the theme for the current call. We encourage discussion across disciplinary and cultural boundaries, through scholarly research articles as well as narratives, commentaries and interventions that sit outside conventional academic contexts.
The theme for the forthcoming issue is “Time.”
We welcome proposals for articles on any issue pertaining to the concept of time within and across disciplines. In particular, we seek proposals related to time within the sciences, the metaphysics of time, concepts of time within the arts and broader humanities, and our narrative descriptions and human experience of time and its passage. Topics may also include the history of time and its measurement as well as comparisons of the concept of time across cultures, noting that these are examples and all proposals related to the concept of time will be considered.
In the first instance, please submit a title and abstract of between 500 and 750 words by 31 October 2026. Please also provide a short biography including your institutional affiliation.
We will let you know if your abstract has been accepted by 18th December 2026.
Article submissions will be due 31st March 2027, with peer review process ideally completed by the end of May and articles completed by the end of June.
Junctures articles are typically between 4000 and 6000 words, but for this issue we are also happy to publish longer articles (up to 10,000 words) if the topic and quality of writing support this length.
The journal will be published online (open access) in November 2027 with a limited run of print copies available for purchase.
